Scrip Orders Due Monday, April 28th

Please remember to log on to www.shopwithscrip.com and place your order.  Print off your receipt, write your phone number(s) on it and turn it in with your money (cash or check made out to DCS Scrip) + $2.00 S&H.  There is a box in Mr. Cox’s office for Scrip Orders.  The box will be picked up after school on Monday, April 28th.  If you can’t get your order in before then, please contact one of your Scrip Coordinators to arrange a time to drop off your order.

 April 25, 2008: Barnes & Noble Bonus Contribution 

 Great Lakes Scrip Center and Barnes & Noble are pleased to offer our customers a 1% bonus benefit on Barnes & Noble gift cards from Saturday, May 3rd until Friday, May 30th.  That means you can buy the $10, $20 “Teacher Gift”, $25, and $100 denominations at a 10% benefit instead of the normal 9% benefit for the bonus period only.

Due to circumstances beyond our control the April 21st Order has been postphoned to MONDAY, APRIL 28TH!  Sorry for the inconvenience.  The Scrip Order Box is in Mr. Cox’s office so orders can be turned in any time this week.  The box will be picked up after school on Monday, April 28th.

 April 18, 2008: Speedway Food Court Now Available

Please advise your member families that Speedway Food Court gift cards are now available in a $20 denomination with a 7% benefit.

The card is redeemable for consumable items only - “fast food” items (fountain drinks, coffee, hot dogs, burgers, etc) as well as chips, candy, and cooler items.  It is not redeemable for beer, wine, tobacco products, money orders and lottery tickets.  IT IS NOT REDEEMABLE FOR GAS and only one card may be used per transaction.

April 15, 2008:  Shell $50’s Now Available.  Shell is now available in a new $50 denomination in addition to the already available $25 and $100 gift cards.  The benefit, restrictions, and guidelines remain the same.

April 15, 2008:  Linens ‘N Things Temporarily Unavailable.   We are temporarily suspending sales of Linens ‘N Things gift cards due to numerous reports of financial difficulties.  Until we learn more about the situation Linens ‘N Things will not be available for order and GLSC will notify you accordingly. If you have unredeemed Linens ‘N Things gift cards, it would be prudent to redeem them as soon as possible to avoid any potential issues in the future.

CHANGE TO SENIOR PICTURE LOCATION!!

maptopark.jpgThe senior band picture location has changed. The grounds around the Snowden House are unavailable due to a wedding. All senior band members are now requested to meet at Saucier Park in Southaven. This park is located behind (on the south side) the Southaven City Hall building. Click on the map to see full size for directions. We will still meet at 2 pm on Saturday, April 12th. It should not take more than 30 minutes to complete the task, so don’t be late!! If you have questions, contact Mr. Wofford at 901-488-6439. We will see you there!

Scrip “Gift Card” Updates:

 Next Order Due: this Friday, April 11th!

There is a box in Mr. Cox’s office.  Please drop off your orders in the box.  It will be picked up at the end of school on Friday, April 11th.  If you do not get your order in before that time, please contact one of your DCS Scrip Coordinators to arrange a time to drop off your order.  Julie, Lisa, Karen, Debbie & Leigh can be contacted at dcscrip@comcast.net.

 TIP: Go ahead and write down all the dates for Scrip Orders for the year on your calendar.  (This list is on the announcements on the www.shopwithscrip.com website.)  Then keep a running list of gift cards that you need to order on each date, for example: Birthdays, Anniversaries, Graduation, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas, Baby Showers, Weddings, etc.  The key to making money with this is PLANNING AHEAD!

UPDATES:

April 3, 2008:  Shaw’s Temporarily Unavailable

Please advise your member families that Shaw’s has run out of their cards.  GLSC has a limited number of Shaw’s $25 and $50 gift cards available and they will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

We do not know when another shipment will arrive but will advise our customers as soon as it happens.  As a result, GLSC has decided to not take any orders for the remaining cards next week while we are closed.   Shaw’s will be temporarily turned off from Friday, April 4 at 4:00pm EST and will be restored on Monday, April 14th at 8:00am EST.

 April 3, 2008:  Mr. Goodcents Denomination Change

Please note…GLSC is discontinuing the Mr. Goodcents $5 paper certificate and will now be carrying a new $10 gift card.  We have a limited amount of $5 certificates available, which we are currently selling until inventory is depleted.  They will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.  The benefit remains unchanged.

Spring Concert Series

IMG_3098 The Desoto Central Band program presented it’s annual Spring Concert Series this week. It featured performances from both middle school bands and the Concert and Symphonic bands of the high school. The stands were packed with proud parents and friends of the Desoto Central Band program as they enjoyed several contemporary and traditional compositions. Thanks to directors Dennis Cox, Heath Hopper and Jace Wells for all their hard work in preparing for this very special presentation.

Great news…Younker’s will be offering a 2% bonus benefit effective Saturday, April 12th until Friday, May 9th. This means that the $25 and $100 gift cards will be sold at a 10% benefit instead of the normal 8% benefit for the bonus period only.
The gift card is redeemable for merchandise and services at Younker’s, Bon-Ton, Bergner’s, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman and Herberger’s locations. The cards cannot be used to pay on your credit card account.

March 31, 2008: Safeway $100’s Temporarily Unavailable

Please advise your member families that Safeway has run out of their $100 cards. GLSC has a limited number of Safeway $100 gift cards available and they will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
The $25 denomination is still available for order.

Safeway is anticipating this to be resolved in the next month or two and we will advise our customers as soon as that happens.
