JAG DAY 2010 — An American Tradition

September 11, 2010 10am-5pm @ DCHS (rain date Sept. 18)

Join us for JAG Day on September 11, 2010 from 10:00am until 5:00 pm at DeSoto County High School.  Fun for everyone! Preschool-age children to Sr. adults will enjoy more than 25 bounce houses and inflatable obstacle courses, craft booths, sports competitions, cake walks, a huge silent auction and GREAT food.

JAG Day will  feature a 12:00 noon ceremony honoring the American men and women serving in our militarySouthaven Mayor Greg Davis will be the honored Guest Speaker.  The Desoto Central Children’s Choirs and The Pride of DeSoto Central Band will be performing.

A big draw to JAG Day is the Cow-A-Dunga raffle.  The band students sell $10 raffle tickets.  The tickets are shuffled and assigned a number on a grid.  The grid is then setup on the practice field, where an actual cow is released.  When the cow does his “business”, a $10,000 check is awarded to the owner of that grid!  Everyone enjoys waiting for the cow to make “business”!

Booths for JAG Day are still available! A 12”x12” vendor table rents for $60; special deals available for official band sponsors.  Anyone interested in donating items to the silent auction can do so by contacting band parent Pam Stout at  pamstout@dcspride.com.

This yearly fundraiser benefits the Band, as well as other participating DeSoto Central Schools organizations.
