I know that I’m computer challenged, but I found this a bit difficult and to find – maybe others are having some of the same problems I had.

Send the emails the kids are slow to communicate. They say they are too busy and forget to tell me what I need to know.

EMAIL…Lela forgets to tell us things and we missed the first meeting…. so we feel like we are out of the loop of information. I will continue to go to meetings but it would be nice to know fundraising info and events coming up by email!

Emails are better. The meetings are filled with so much information, that my brain goes into overload and I leave forgetting to sign up for something.
I know my head is always spinning when I leave a booster meeting. :O

I think this website would be very effective in getting information to parents if it had information on it such as what the kids are supposed to wear for the game this Friday. I know that they usually don’t wear their full uniform for the first game (only because this is my 4th year), but the new parents won’t know this unless their kids tell them. And how often does that happen? I remember our first game, I had to leave work at 5pm and run to Kohl’s and pick up a pair of khaki pants and hope they fit when I got there, which was right before they had to be dressed and ready to go. Also, there are a lot of questions about Band Aid Day. This is the biggest fund raiser, shouldn’t it be expained in detail on here? I know someone said they always leave the booster meeting and remember they forgot to sign up for something. Can we put some of the sign ups on here, or at least someone we can email to get signed up? I need to sign up for concessions, but I don’t have time at the booster meeting because I am busy taking Scrip orders. Also, I understand that the kids can sign up to sell Cow-A-Dunga Tickets on the weekends. I have asked my kids and they say that have not heard anything about it, they cannot find the sign up sheet, and they just simply forget to look! Is there someone I can contact about that?
Julie, I agree! The website should be our epicenter of information. I can do all of the things you mention here on this site. I can set up a page where you can sign up online for concessions, or cow-a-dunga or anything else. I too don’t want to stand in the long line to sign up for something at the meetings and online forms are a perfect solution for that. The problem is time, training and communication. I need to know exactly what information needs to be collected, who it should go to, deadlines, etc. You would not believe the amount of time I have spent on the site to get it to this point. Dennis Wofford as well spends countless hours updating content. I know exactly what you are saying and I agree 100%. Let’s get it done! I’m game.

Julie, thank you for the heads up on the dress code for the game tomorrow. I also signed up to cook. Does anyone know what time we have to be at the game to cook?

I like the emails because I don’t often come to booster meetings. Sometimes they say “Mandatory” meetings, and I drive over there, and the information could have just as easily been given out over email or the website.

I think that the website and e-mail are the best ways of keeping everyone up to date. It is mush easier to go to the website and see for yourself what is going on instead of waiting to hear from your child and/or booster meetings. Unfortunately, I have noticed that the website is not kept up to date. It would be great if someone could update it daily with anything that is happening that is spur of the moment. You can’t depend on the child to come home and tell you everything.

A BIG THANK YOU to Dennis and Tony for all the work they do on the website. I’ve noticed some changes lately, and it looks great!! We appreciate your hard work and all of the time you put into it. I personally check the website for information before I check my email, so I also agree with comments to put as much on the site as possible to make it easier to sign up, etc. Parents: don’t skip the band meetings, though! I think it is important to go if for no other reason than to show support for our great band staff.

All Band Parents need to help with the website. If you know of something going on that is not on here, please email Tony or Dennis and let them know. Or if you are helping with a fundraiser or an event and you need the information to get out, they are the ones to tell about it. The earlier you get information on the website, the better response you will get. Also, I know from experience that they are always open to suggestions! They have helped me out tremendously with the Scrip Fundraiser. By the way, don’t forget orders are due at the Booster Meeting, September 10th! Look at the Scrip section to find out how to place an order or contact us!

Mr. Hopper has been updating the calendar page of the website and has been doing a pretty good job of keeping the latest events up to date. These updates are usually just a simple posting of the event name and time on the calendar, but just seeing things posted to the calendar can at least serve to prompt us to ask a question that can then be addressed in the comments section or result in a post that gets everyone up to speed. Of course, if you have not registered as a member of the site, then you can’t post questions or receive the automatic emails that are generated when a new post or comment is put up on the site….so register now if you haven’t done so already!!
