The Pride of Desoto Central Marching Band made the trip to 'The Big Easy' this afternoon for the first day of their BCS Bowl trip. After a short lunch stop in Jackson, The Pride arrived at their hotel in the Warehouse District of downtown New Orleans at 3:15pm. There was just enough time to get checked in and freshened up before soon departing for dinner at Michaul's Cajun Restaurant. The meal included a selection of fine Louisiana quisine, and afterwards several band members ventured onto the dance floor as "Skeeter's Cajun Band" played some familiar and not so familiar tunes. It didn't matter what the music was, becaue the atmosphere was enough to ensure that everyone had a great time before returning to the hotel for the evening.
