BCS New Orleans Trip-Day Three
Long day. The students spent the morning rehearsing for the big halftime show. The mass band including all eight high schools and both university bands will provide the halftime entertainment at the BCS Championship Bowl. The event will be carried live on the local Fox affiliate, with the game itself starting at 7pm. The big news of the day came at the end of rehearsal when the results of the previous day's competition were announced. Among the eight bands and two divisions, The Pride received top honors, being named grand champion of the Bowl Games of America field show competition. The band also took the caption awards for color guard, marching, percussion, and visual effects. The rest of the day was spent touring the French Quarter and shopping. The day was capped off with a lavish ball held at Mardi Gras World, where all of the Mardi Gras parade floats and costumes are designed, built and stored.
